Clean Water

No one should have to worry about lead in their water. I introduced a bill to create a lead task force and budget of $200 million to remove lead pipes in Michigan particularly in Hamtramck.

This issue is personal to me, because both of my children had elevated lead levels at their one year pediatrician check up. This lit a fire in me to become an advocate for policies that would help eliminate this issue for families in Metro Detroit, so no one would have to go through the shock and frustration our family did. I’ve attended parent support groups and also participated in programming with Clean Corp in Detroit to work on solutions on this issue and advocate for change.
